The Sorentberg is a steep slope vineyard in the German region of Mosel, which had been forgotten for over 25 years. In 2011 Tobias Treis and his business partner and friend Ivan Giovanett have brought the vineyard to new life. Of the 9.5 hectares 4.5 are currently planted. The Sorentberg has an exceptional soil, called “Wissenbach slate”!

2 different Riesling are produced from the Sorentberg vineyard. This Riesling “Rotschiefer” is made of the grapes of the vineyard young planted in 2012. The wine is traditionally produced in so called „Fuder“ barrels with a capacity of 1,000 liters. The barrels are not toasted why there aren’t any secondary wooden notes of vanilla or similar aromas in the wine.
