The wines of the brand Borgate originate in Abruzzo, which is dominated by the Apennines. The few flat areas are situated high above sea level and the climatic conditions vary from cool and humid in the high inland to constantly warmer and drier at the Adriatic coast. Most of the vineyards are located on hills with calcareous clay soils along the Adriatic Sea.
This Trebbiano Borgate consists of 95% Trebbiano and 5% Chardonnay. In general, Trebbiano wines are rather simple and easy drinking. In the last few years, the first Trebbiano wines have been produced from old clones with low yields, producing pleasantly good and fresh white wines that are more than just trivial.
