The home of the autochthonous St. Magdalener is the small mountain northeast of Bolzano which gives its name to the location. Almost the entire hill is planted with vines. St. Magdalener consists of 90 % Vernatsch and 10 % Lagrein which are planted as a field blend, why the wine cannot be called blend itself. The St. Magdalener combines the aromatic fruitiness of Vernatsch with the full structure of Lagrein.
