Lagrein is one of the indigenous grape varieties of South Tyrol. The vine prefers warm, sunny places as on the valley floor. It grows best on alluvial gravel soils. The best areas for Lagrein can be found near Bolzano and Egna, where the grapes for our Lagrein Rieder come from.

Name: One of our vineyards planted with Lagrein in Bolzano is called “Rieder”.

Vineyard soil: alluvial gravel soils

Vinification: manual harvest, fermentation in traditional concrete tanks, maceration of 8-12 days, maturation on the yeast for 6 months

Caratteristiche:

Intense and brilliant ruby red colour, broad and complex bouquet with aroma and flavor of wild berries and violets. Warm and persistent on the palate, fine and structured tannins, pleasant and typical acidity
