The new "UGA" (Unità Geografica Aggiuntiva) classification in Alto Adige has been defined and applies for the first time to the 2024 vintage.
86 Additional Geographical Units (UGA), have been defined. The UGA represent specific winegrowing areas characterized by common geographical, weather, and soil conditions within the larger designation of origin Alto Adige DOC.
UGAs are legal tools developed to enhance the territorial traits of wines and strengthen the link between the area, grown varieties and quality.
